Top 10 Greatest Wrestlers in History – Wrestling is a historic sport globally, but professional wrestling as we know it today is just a few decades old. The kings’ game has developed into a sport for celebrities. Over the years, professional wrestling has inspired some of the most well-known sports figures in history. When creating a “Tops In The World” list, it is difficult to avoid bias. My selection criteria included competence, the ability to execute great bouts, audience reaction, and a wrestler’s market worth. The following is a table of the Top Ten Greatest Wrestlers in History.

For almost 30 years, Bob Backlund has been a professional wrestler in the United States. He debuted in professional wrestling with the American Wrestling Association in 1973. After a few months, he joined the National Wrestling Alliance and fought Terry Funk for the Western States Heavyweight Championship. He joined with the World Wide Wrestling Federation in early 1977 and remained for almost 35 years. He was a two-time champion of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). Backlund was beaten by count-out in his debut WWF bout against Billy Graham. Despite his elimination in the 2000 Royal Rumble series, he remains the second-longest-reigning WWF Champion of all time. Maria Menounos inducted him into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 6, 2013.

Shawn Michaels is a retired American professional wrestler. He fought for the World Wrestling Federation from 1988 until his initial retirement in 1998. He performed his debut on-camera bout for the WWF on July 7, 1988. Shawn won the world title four times and the WWF Championship twice throughout his long and successful career, which lasted from 1984 to 2010. Shawn Michaels is the first Grand Slam Champion of the World Wrestling Federation. Eleven times, he has been named PWI Match of the Year, a new record. Shawn was the former World Heavyweight Champion of the World Wrestling Federation. In 2011, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Despite just having spent a brief stint in the WWE, Brock Lesnar has had a lasting effect on the company. At one point, Lesnar was the WWE’s youngest Heavyweight Champion. He was designed for success, and he was charged with guiding the company to the organization’s next explosion point. Brock Lesnar returned to the ring in 2012 after an eight-year sabbatical, sparking a massive media reaction. Despite his minimal participation, his fame among sports enthusiasts served as a necessary immunization for WWE. Not to mention that he is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. In addition to his WWE fame, Lesnar has established himself as one of the richest UFC fighters of all time.

For the first time, Terra Ryzing appeared in the International Wrestling Federation in 1992. He changed his name to Hunter Hearst Helmsley and moved to the World Wrestling Federation in 1995. Wrestle Mania X8 saw Triple H crowned as the victor, but it was Hulk Hogan who won the WWE Championship at Backlash. During his distinguished career, he held five different titles: the World Heavyweight Championship, the WWF European Championship, and the WWE Intercontinental Championship five times each. As Executive Vice President, Triple H has become the leader of the WWE.

The Rock, who also goes by the name Dwayne Johnson, is a professional wrestler that works for the WWE. Johnson made his WWF debut at Survivor Series in November 1996, competing in an eight-man elimination tag team match as Rocky Maivia, the lone survivor. In a Triple Threat match to determine his eighth WWF Championship, Rock faced Kurt Angle and The Undertaker at Vengeance, where he emerged victoriously. In 1997, he claimed the Intercontinental Championship, having gained it in WWF. At King of the Ring, with Kane and The Undertaker, he won the WWF Championship for the sixth time and defeated Shane McMahon, Vince McMahon, and Triple H in the process. In addition to those championships, he has also won two WWE World Championships, eight WWF/E Championship titles, and five WWF Tag Team Championships. During the Stone Cold/John Cena feud, TRP’s prominence soared. In August 2013, The Rock told fans that he expected to retire from wrestling before the end of the year.

Flair has been victorious 16 times in the World Championship. In WWE history, he was the first wrestler to be inducted twice. During his career, Flair was primarily a pay-per-view attraction. Ricky Steamboat’s amazing run of marathon bouts with Flair is something that will be talked about for decades. He has climbed up to sixth place in all-time great wrestler rankings.

John Cena is a professional wrestler and bodybuilder from the United States. Cena also held the title of WWE Champion for one of the longest periods of time. Cena sustained a genuine broken pectoral muscle when attempting a hip flip to Mr. Kennedy in 2007. Although, unexpectedly, he returned to the ring a few months later as the final contestant in the 2008 Royal Rumble series. On that day, he claimed the match as well as the Wrestle Mania championship by defeating Triple H. In 2013, he defeated Kane for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He is the only man to have ever accomplished the feat of winning the Royal Rumbles twice in a row. Hulk Hogan returns to WWE on February 21, 2014, to host WrestleMania XXX. His tenure as the WWF Champion was the third-longest in history, after Bruno Sammartino and Bob Backlund.

He was the “patriotic poster child” of the WWE throughout the 1990s and 2000s. Also known as the Attitude Era, the era in question may be referred to as the “Attitude Era.” In addition to winning the Intercontinental Championship, the World Heavyweight Championship, and the Tag Team Championship, Austin has also won the WWF Tag Team Championship four times. He has previously won the King of the Ring and a Royal Rumble once, as well as winning once in the King of the Ring and the Royal Rumble. For most of his career, Austin has competed in pay-per-view WWF contests. WWE Hall of Fame in 2009 saw him inducted by the institution. As a result, WWE Raw re-took the lead in the ratings from WCW Nitro, thanks to his influence. He really is a champion; as such, he deserves to be placed second on our list of Greatest Wrestlers.

The Undertaker is notable for having achieved a 21-match victory streak at WWE’s most famous pay-per-view event: WrestleMania (PPV). The WWE Champion, World Heavyweight Champion, USWA Unified World Heavyweight Champion, and eight-time World Heavyweight Champion are just a few of the championships he has won. Wrestler, the man, is without a doubt an all-time great.
